Students for University Advancement is a student organization dedicated to building a culture of engagement and philanthropy among undergraduate students. Members of SUA educate their peers on the importance of fostering a lifelong relationship with William & Mary, encouraging them to support their alma mater with their time, talent and treasure. SUA further seeks to facilitate meaningful connections between students, alumni and the campus community each year. Through these functions, SUA aims to ensure the continued enhancement of the W&M experience, ensuring the bright future of our storied institution.

Our goal is to build a culture of engagement and philanthropy on campus so that we may continue to support William & Mary in the future. By educating and engaging current students throughout their time at William & Mary, students will leave with a better understanding of the importance and impact of giving back to the university. By creating this culture, we hope to increase the number of students and young alumni giving to William & Mary and establish strong financial support for the university so the university can thrive for all time coming.

Members of Students for University Advancement have opportunities to network with William & Mary alumni, sponsor large campus events and grow as student leaders as they foster engagement and a spirit of giving across campus.

The purpose of student philanthropy programs is to educate, engage and excite current William & Mary students about the importance and impact of supporting our alma mater after we graduate. 

Educate. To educate the William & Mary student body, beginning in freshman year, about the importance and impact of private support to the university. 

Engage. To engage students in a meaningful way, empowering them to become student leaders who strive to make a difference on campus through engagement and philanthropy and serve as ambassadors and advocates for the university. 

Excite. To excite students about their experiences as undergraduate students and to look forward to becoming future alumni so that they continue to strengthen their lifelong connection with William & Mary.
