Happy Birthday, William & Mary

The 2017 Charter Day Ceremony will take place on Friday, Feb. 10, at Kaplan Arena. Celebrating 324 years since the birth of William & Mary by Royal Charter, Charter Day festivities will involve students, faculty, staff and alumni, as well as the local community.

William & Mary’s Michael Clemons ’89, a football All-American and former player and coach in the Canadian Football League, will speak at the Charter Day ceremony on Friday. He will also receive an honorary degree alongside longtime William & Mary coach, administrator and athletic fundraiser Millie West. Read more about Clemons and West.

Thomas Jefferson Award: Sharon Zuber

Thomas Jefferson Teaching Award: Kara Thompson

Thomas Jefferson Prize in Natural Philosophy: Ben Zhang ’17

James Monroe Prize in Civic Leadership: Daniel Delmonaco ’17
