Professional Development & Training
Join a team making a difference
Your personal growth matters to us, and we are invested in your career path! We provide opportunities for your professional development and training to keep you current in professional trends and innovations and help you grow and expand as a professional.
In addition to the training we plan for you as a new hire, our managers provide ongoing learning opportunities for our teams, specific to each team’s work. Our biannual all-staff meetings also include training opportunities in current and relevant topics. Broad university-based training is available to all employees via Cornerstone Learning, as well as a myriad of options through Lynda.com.
We also encourage team members to attend and take leadership roles in CASE and other professional conferences each year. Thirty-seven William & Mary advancement team members attended or presented at various conferences in 2018 alone. Additionally, University Advancement colleagues are engaged and active in the following professional associations, to name a few:

"I have been given the opportunity to both attend professional conferences and have been encouraged and supported to make presentations on our approach and outcomes. These opportunities allow me to test ideas among a broader audience of peers and has proven to greatly benefit my work."
